Centenary Lounge is inspired by the 1930’s Art Deco railway cafes, bringing a touch of elegance and the essence of a bygone era. Providing a refined venue for locals and visitors alike to enjoy a casual coffee and croissant, a fabulous brunch or a stylish afternoon tea and cocktails.

All our venues are complimented with a dynamic online presence which offers multiple revenue streams for delivery and in-store collection. We also offer gift experiences and vouchers to subscriptions and hampers, including our very own range of replica GWR-branded giftware suitably named Recreations.

Birmingham and Worcester venues have been described as charming and relaxing along with the perfect setting to enjoy both a meal or a break. Centenary Lounge has a host of food and drinks ranging from breakfast through to lunch, to afternoon tea and pre-dinner cocktails.

We believe in using innovating and contemporary thinking to create an in-depth analysis of our locations. Being able to advise on all the above and provide bespoke solutions is what we aspire to do when we offer our franchisees options such as a hybrid version or even any other relevant arrangement.
We have three concepts available:

The First-Class Lounge

This is the ‘High Street’ version with a more fulfilled menu which is both licensed and contains a generous amount of seating with table service. We have taken the technical aspect of cooking out of the process, so this means that a fully trained chef is not necessary. However, some of the dishes offered at the location would need someone who is capable of producing the high-quality food by following the detailed recipes provided for each dish.

Express Lounge

This concept is still relatively large or medium depending on the location. The real difference is the menu, as it is more compact and appeals to customers who are ‘on the move’ or are looking for a quick bite to eat and drink. One thing to note is that there is also seating available on these premises and has a more café like feel. We feel that this would utilise its full potential within Railway Stations, Airports, Coach Stations or even Ports, but is perfect for smaller towns or cities or as a neighbourhood store. The versatility of this concept is apparent and very appealing.

Station Kiosk

The third and final concept is a standalone store that would work perfectly within stations, airports or even shopping centre as this mainly focuses on the takeaway aspect.

Our support network includes:

Training & Mentoring

A 4-week training all hands on deck programme for all successful applicants learning how to make every drink and dish on the menu to the excellent customer service required to make this a success. We will also provide full onsite training pre-launch together with an exceptional package of ongoing support. This also includes teaching those involved how to advertise for recruiting the right staff, providing the full staff training and ensuring that everything is set up from payroll to HMRC requirements.

Shop-Fit & Design

Our Art Deco design is unique therefore collaborating with you is important, and that’s why you will be assisted with creating a store design that follows our brand of a 1930s Art Deco look that is set to ‘wow’ new and returning visitors. We will also help with project managing from design to complete fit out.

Operations Manual

Upon signing your franchise agreement, you will receive a full version of this to assist you with daily operations and clarify any uncertainties. Even though the operations manual is very comprehensive, we will still go through the entire process with you so you are confident in using every system including setting up with suppliers, opening accounts to stock control and beyond.

Project Funding

We have the means to help you to gain funding for this franchise and will help with creating a viable business plan. We have excellent links within the business, and we will make it as easy as possible for you.

Marketing
