Located on Platform 2 – Allow yourself to be transported back to a golden age of travel

The restoration and transformation of the refreshment room at Leamington Spa Station has been led by Aasia Baig, the visionary founder of Centenary Lounge with collaborations with the Railway Heritage Trust and Friends of Leamington Spa who were instrumental in achieving the listed status for the refreshment room. 

The project aimed to revive the nostalgic charm and timeless elegance of the art deco era while providing a warm and welcoming space for travellers and locals alike. What resulted was a transformation of the unit back to the 1930’s art deco style, offering an extensive menu very similar to Birmingham Moor Street.

The menu has been carefully curated to offer a delightful range of refreshments, including delectable pastries, speciality coffees, fine teas, luxury cocktails and a selection of enjoyable dishes to satisfy a variety of tastes.

Centenary Lounge has worked diligently to preserve the heritage of the original refreshment room while infusing modern conveniences and culinary excellence. The space now boasts a vibrant and inviting ambience, with meticulous attention paid to every detail. The restoration work was carried out to the highest standards, and the results are truly breath-taking. The restoration work has been a labour of love for Aasia, and it’s wonderful to see it recognised with winning the Network Rail Conservation Award by the National Railway Heritage Awards in 2023.
