Centenary Lounge takes part in the FRAME art exhibition

We are very excited to be hosting artwork with a link to railways as part of the FRAME project to display artwork in locations around the city.

The artwork we’re hosting is by an artist couple called plan b / Sophia New & Dan Belasco Rogers and is called ‘All the journeys we have made this year in Berlin’. It’s the traces of their GPS trails made from their everyday life over the course of a whole year in Berlin. Daily repeated journeys become main arteries that define how and where they are living: a thick, reiterated street, due to GPS imprecision, bleeds out of the width of the actual streets that it traces. The thin, one-line marks attest to unique and memorable journeys to new territory in a familiar city. Collectively, these lines are a love story of two people living alongside one another; many journeys shared, some made separately.

The artists are both British, but based in Berlin and frequent visitors to Birmingham.

We think it’s perfect for our location in Moor Street Station, as it looks like railway lines. Please come in to see it!

Everyone’s invited to take part in the FRAME project and to attend their launch party, which takes place at the Old Joint Stock Theatre at 4 Temple Row on Friday 16 November – visit their website to find out more.
